Mark Dow was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Other work has been in Conjunctions, Exchanges: A Journal of Literary Translation, PN Review, 3:AM Magazine, Wave Composition, Word for/Word, and Mudlark Flash No. 41. He is the author of American Gulag: Inside U.S. Immigration Prisons (California) and teaches at Hunter College in New York.
