Tells his violinist uncle his friend told him he read Barenboim said he’s focusing on Schubert now since Beethoven declares while Schubert implies. Violinist uncle replies: nicely said except that in the late quartets Beethoven often does in fact suggest even if the suggestions end up going nowhere. Agreed, though, that that particular nowhere isn’t just any old nowhere and violinist uncle says he wouldn’t mind it if his nephew said he said so here.
