Un futuro di mille gigabyte
attende la cartella delle foto
e le immagini che mi scatterai —
un flash che fisserà in un immoto
ritratto realista quei momenti
di te e di me durante gite al mare
oppure dentro un altro degli ambienti
che tu deciderai d’immortalare.
Nello storaggio sta riproduzione
di ciò che appare certo all’occhio umano
ma non c’è spazio per quell’emozione
che ogni volta compare nella mano
          il nostro esser, scatto dopo scatto
          non più soli bensì coppia di fatto.

A future of a thousand gigabytes
awaits the folder of our photos
and the images you’ll snap for me
in flashes that immovably arrest
realist portraits of me and you:
those outings to the seaside,
or to any other backdrop you
have elected to immortalize.
In that storage, what seems true
to the human eye is reproduced;
but there’s no room for the thrill
that surges each time in our hands:
          our being a common-law couple,
          no longer alone, in shot after shot.
