Mudlark No. 54 (2014)
two lemons on bowed
branches —

if they were perfect
they would not be
so beautiful

death has hollow eyes
and holds a flower
like a fever it pulls
the bones
of the body apart
when the body lies down
death rises
like a lamp
across the field
