MOLD-A-RAMA contains a complete hydraulic system, powered by a precision pump which includes the reservoir and check-valve. Operation is controlled by an electrically operated cycle-timer and fixed-position cams. (See schematic diagram of hydraulic system, which follows this page.)
1. Lay the baby down. 2. If using a changing table, use the safety straps to prevent baby from falling. 3. Remove your baby’s clothes. 4. Un-tape the soiled diaper, but do not remove. 5. Use a burp cloth or other eye protection to prevent the hydraulic system from spraying in your face.
We decided on cloth diapers when we learned that disposable diapers are the third largest single consumer item in landfill (there is, of course, contentious debate about the validity of this statistic).
The truth is, not much breaks down in landfill anyway, regardless of whether it’s degradable or not. That’s why, here at Huggies, we have focused on a real issue in landfill management and reduced the volume, or bulk, of our nappies, to reduce the space they take up in landfill by substituting fibre (from sustainable and renewable plantations of Pinus radiata) with additional super-absorbent material and more effective product design.
We thought briefly about washing the diapers ourselves, before thinking better of it and agreeing on a service (plastic when we’re traveling, or out to dinner).
Hydraulic system contains 5 cylinders which operate the several phases of the molding and vending cycle and are manufactured to high quality specifications, insuring long life and trouble- free performance.
None of our preparations have left me feeling prepared.
